OZEV GRANT SCHEME

A big incentive to encourage the masses to make the switch to electric is the funding options provided by OZEV, the Office for Zero Emission Vehicles. These grants are available to help business and residential properties with the cost of installing EV chargepoints.

The OZEV grant scheme can provide up to 75% of the cost of installing an EV chargepoint, capped at £350 per socket. You are able to have multiple chargepoints installed under a single grant, and the grants are available for renters, landlords and businesses. Check your OZEV grant eligibility with our quick online quiz.

It’s important to note that the OZEV government grant is constantly evolving, with new businesses and funding levels announced in 2022. If you find that you aren’t eligible now for any funding, you may be able to claim in the future.

Bear in mind that business types can also be dropped and the funding amount can lower as the grant changes. In April 2022, homeowners were removed from the eligibility criteria and can no longer claim under the grant. As the EV industry continues to expand, the government won’t continue to subsidise it, so if you are currently eligible for OZEV funding, act now to secure your savings.

OZEV GRANT ELIGIBILITY

Application for the grant is very simple. Check your OZEV grant eligibility here, or alternatively, contact our team who will be happy to assist you with the process. If you’re eligible, all you need to do is fill out an online form. You can find this form by following the relevant options on the OZEV grant page on the government website. Completing the form will supply you with a voucher. After this, your installer will handle the rest.

After installation, there are two things required from you:

  • Keep the chargepoint in working order for three years
  • Supply OZEV with data from your charger

The data supplied to OZEV is submitted into an anonymous spreadsheet that is combined with data from chargers across the country in order to make policy decisions. Using a chargepoint management system like Fuuse can simplify this process for you.

NEW REVENUE STREAM

Plug&Drive, partnered with Fuuse, is pleased to be able to create a new feature for the ABB Terra AC chargers.

For businesses, this gives your customers and staff access to an app where they pay for the electricity they use to charge their EVs, monitor usage, limit usage, monitor load balancing, and much more.

You can set the price per kWh yourself, with discounted or free rates for staff members.

You can set up chargers so they are exclusively for staff use, or customers can use them at certain times of the day. The possibilities are endless, and it gives you complete control over your EV chargers.

One of the best features is its fault service, if one of your chargers is having difficulties then it will send you an alert. We will be able to fix the fault or get a technician out to you as soon as possible.

Using Fuuse will also make it quick and easy to send over data to OZEV. You will need to send yearly reports on your chargers’ usage, and Fuuse makes that quick and easy for you.
